Functional Labs

I work with CLIA-certified functional labs that perform the following types of testing:

  • Gut assessment

  • Thyroid function

  • Sex hormone panels

  • Adrenal function

  • Cardiometabolic testing

  • Micronutrient testing

  • Environmental toxin and heavy metal testing

You do not need to be a coaching client for me to interpret existing labs or order new labs for you. Please submit my interest form to get in touch.

This at-home stool sample collection kit evaluates the following:

  • Over 35 markers for bacterial, parasitic, and viral pathogens; protozoa, worms, and yeast

  • H. pylori, plus 8 virulence strains to assess if you have a strain that may have more extensive detrimental effects on your health

  • Over 30 markers for normal, opportunistic, and potential autoimmune-triggering bacteria

  • Markers of pancreatic function and bile sufficiency

  • Occult blood and calprotectin, which can indicate GI bleed, tumor, or need for further assessment

  • Two markers of gut immune cell activation

  • Zonulin, which is a marker of intestinal permeability

These tests are most appropriate for:

  • Anyone with digestive discomfort

  • Individuals with autoimmune disease

  • Those with signs of chronic inflammation who suspect their gut may be the root cause

DUTCH testing offers the most comprehensive sex and adrenal hormone analysis and does so using a convenient at-home urine test. It evaluates:

  • Total estrogen levels as well as 10 estrogen metabolites, which help give a picture of how your body produces and detoxifies the hormone

  • Eight androgen metabolites, including testosterone and its precursors, to help us understand how you produces and metabolizes these hormones

  • Total progesterone and two metabolites

  • Eight cortisol and cortisone markers, including the Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR), which tell us about your overall adrenal function and factors that may be impairing it

  • Six organic acid markers to measure your neurotransmitter production and nutrient status

  • One melatonin level

  • One marker of DNA oxidation

These tests are most appropriate for people who are:

  • Age 20+

  • Not on hormonal birth control (copper IUD is ok)

  • Not taking steroids or other glucocorticoid medications (including inhalers and OTC steroid creams)
